Heather M. Brown Olsen currently limits her practice in the areas of real estate law and commercial and residential loan finance and refinance. Heather has extensive experience as trial counsel and consulting counsel in the areas of title, land use, general civil litigation, business formation, probate, and estate administration and family law. After thirty-six years in a multi-faceted practice based in Darien, Stamford, and New Canaan, Attorney Brown Olsen is focusing her experience and time with what she considers to be the most rewarding aspect of a client-based practice- transactional real estate and finance.
Attorney Brown Olsen is an active member of the Connecticut and Fairfield County Bar Associations. She is also co-chair of the Real Estate Committee of the Fairfield County Bar Association and serves on the executive committee of the FCBA. In service to her section, Heather spearheaded the revisions to the Residential Real Estate Contract that is available for use by attorneys on a state-wide basis and serves as co-chair of the current revisions committee. Heather is licensed to practice law in the states of Arizona, Connecticut and New York.
In addition to a focused real estate practice, Heather has tried many cases in the Superior Court and argued several cases before the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court, including cases that have addressed and established the law regarding post judgment interest, taxation and restrictive covenants in real estate conveyancing.
